Candle Warmers Etc.

A: A fragrance warmer is an electric appliance that warms and melts scented jar candles and/or wax melts, releasing the wax's fragrance without a flame. Candle Warmers Etc. candle warmers are a quick, safe, clean, and healthy alternative to enjoying the ambiance of a lit candle without the flame.
A: Candle Warmers Etc. wax products use only the highest quality materials in a wide variety of fragrances. And every Candle Warmers Etc. wax product is hand poured in the U.S.A.!
A: We have many different types of candle warmers, but the process is the same for each. Place a jar candle or wax melts in the corresponding warmer, turn it on, and the fragrance will be released as the wax is warmed.
A: A specially-designed halogen bulb melts the candle from the top down. This is different than “traditional” candle warmers that melt the candle from the bottom. The result is the candle starts melting and releasing fragrance in a matter of minutes.
Candle Warmers Etc. uses the highest quality fragrance oils and has a fragrance load well above the industry average.
A: Candle Warmers Etc. is the original candle warmer company. Candle Warmers Etc. fragrance warmers are safe as they release the wax's fragrance with no open flame, and all have UL or ETL approval. Our products quickly warm the wax to release the fragrance. Fragrance warmers eliminate the dangers of the indoor air pollution and open flame of a lit candle. With Candle Warmers Etc. products, you enjoy all the great things about candles without any of the dangers or harmful byproducts.
A: Candle Warmers, Etc. is the original innovator of candle warming products and first introduced the Original Candle Warmer back in 2001. The other products you see in stores are imitations of Candle Warmers Etc. products.
A: Yes, make sure that you use only jar candles. If you are using wax chips, tarts, potpourri, etc., make sure you use the dish in warming products like our 2-in1-Classic Warmer or Illumination Fragrance Warmer. Otherwise wax will melt onto the warmer.
A: Yes, most of our candle warming products can accommodate most 4 oz. to 26 oz. jar candles. For our plate warmers, we recommend using 4 to 12 oz. jar candles.
A: Depending on which Candle Warmers product you are using, melting time could take anywhere between a few minutes to an hour or more depending on the size of the candle.
A: All Candle Warmers Etc. products are UL or ETL approved. Your Candle Warmers Etc. products have been tested and approved for use with high quality jars candles without cracking or breaking your jar candle.
A: No, the bulbs found in your candle warmer lamps or lanterns have a narrow beam that is focused directly onto the candle. Bulbs that are found in hardware centers have a beam with a wider focus and will not melt the candle. Click here to order replacement bulbs.
A: Unlike burning a candle, warming a candle will not cause the wax to burn off. Over time as the candle is repeatedly heated, the fragrance will eventually evaporate and the candle will produce a weaker scent. Once this happens, it’s time to replace the candle. If you are using one of our candle warmer lamps or lanterns and the scent starts to diminish from your candle, simply pour the melted wax into an empty metal or glass container and discard. The rest of the unmelted candle is still good and still holds fragrance.
A: Most candles are completely safe to be used on, in, or under any of our products. We can’t guarantee that every candle company uses high quality glass jars or uses glass jars that are free from hidden defects. To ensure your candle is safe to be used with our candle warmers, contact the candle manufacturer before use.
A: Power cords are about three feet long.
A: Most bulbs last between 1,000 to 1,500 hours. Turning your bulb on and off within a five minute period will shorten the life of the bulb.
A: Some of our warmers use a warming plate, and some use a bulb. Click here to see which type of replacement bulb your warmer needs.
A: Quite the opposite. Candle warmers open new sales avenues for retailers who have traditionally sold only candles. Building a candle program that includes candle warmers increases the average sales ticket. Because candle warmers are so consumer friendly, consumers experiment with more scented candles in the home, translating into increased candle sales.
A. All Candle Warmers Etc. ceramic warmers are hand-crafted and hand-glazed. Occasionally, our ceramic warmers contain small blemishes such as pock marks, pin holes, indentations, smears, streaks, glaze voids, and other common imperfections in the glaze surface. In addition, many of our ceramic warmers use a reactive glaze process where a base coat and top coat are applied, which then “reacts” to heat in the kiln. The result is a one-of-a-kind glazed look that can be slightly different from warmer to warmer.

A. California law contains what is known as the Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act, also referred to as Proposition 65 (“Prop 65”).  Prop 65 is a unique California only “right to know” law that requires products sold in California to bear warning notices about potential exposure to any of the over 800 substances listed by the state.  As a practical matter, Prop 65 warnings may be required for any consumer product (food or non-food) that can expose an individual in California to virtually any detectable amount of a listed chemical.

Prop 65 does not ban any products from sale in California; it simply requires warnings about the listed chemical contained in the product. No other state has a law similar to Proposition 65, which requires warnings for listed chemicals contained in products at levels that are far below levels known to cause any actual harm, or that are regulated by the FDA or other federal or state law.  Lawsuits to enforce Prop 65 against manufacturers, distributors or retailers may be instituted by the State of California, or much more frequently by private “bounty hunters” and their attorneys who profit from the law.

In recent years, many businesses have come under attack by private Proposition 65 bounty hunters over alleged trace amounts of listed chemicals contained in various types of consumer products, even those that are infrequently handled.  Indeed, even many healthy food products containing trace amounts of lead or other listed chemicals are subject to Proposition 65 claims in California, including certain fish, seaweed, coffee, tea and many other similar products.  Frequently, the exposure levels established by Prop 65 can be less than what occurs naturally even in these various foods that are part of a healthy diet.

Trace amounts of chemicals listed under California’s Proposition 65 may be found in some of Candle Warmers products even though Candle Warmer’s takes steps to specify materials that do not contain listed chemicals at levels that require a warning.  Accordingly, as a business decision, Candle Warmers has decided to provide Proposition 65 warnings for certain products where it believes there may be trace amounts of listed chemicals that could trigger expensive and resource draining litigation with private bounty hunters.  Like many other companies selling similar products, Candle Warmers has chosen to provide Proposition 65 warnings rather than engage in a long and protracted legal battle to prove in court that any listed chemicals contained in its products do not require a warning.

You should also be aware that the Governor of California proposed reforms to end abusive Proposition 65 lawsuits.  To learn more about these efforts, please visit the following link:
